Projects

Gulp

Python, Flask, React, Redux, HTML5, PostgreSQL, CSS3

As part of a team of four engineers, I contributed to the development of a full-stack web application that serves as a functional clone of Yelp. Gulp prioritizes user experience, featuring an interactive map, filtering options, and the ability to leave ratings and reviews for businesses. We utilized a range of technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Flask, and SQLAlchemy, to build the application from scratch. The resulting Yelp clone is a demonstration of our collaborative, creative, and efficient approach to developing high-quality, user-focused full-stack applications.

DIYDinners

Python, Flask, SqlAlchemy, React, Redux

DIYDinners is a Clone of New York Times Cooking, offering an intuitive platform for users to share and review simple dinner recipes. With user authentication and authorization features implemented via passport.js, we ensured secure access to recipe creation, editing, and reviewing functionalities. Leveraging Redux store and React Router, this application delivers seamless data flow and efficient page rendering for optimal user experience. I am proud to present this project as a culmination of my progress during my first year as a developer!

BreezeBnB

Javascript, Express.js, React, Redux, Node.js

BreezeBnB, built using React and Express, provides an elegant space for home rental advertisements and reviews. With a user-friendly interface created using React, bookings and reservations are made easy, resulting in an exceptional user experience. Optimized for performance, I implemented caching mechanisms and asynchronous programming techniques in Express, ensuring a fast and responsive interface. The back-end server, developed and maintained using Node.js and Express, guarantees efficient and scalable site performance.

About Me

As a contemplative software engineer, I have spent much of my career reflecting on the ways in which technology can help us lead more fulfilling and meaningful lives. My background in Physiology/Physical Therapy has given me a unique perspective on the intersection of human biology and technology, and I believe that the two can work together to enhance our well-being and unlock our full potential.

Through my work as a software engineer, I have learned that true success requires patience, determination, and a willingness to put in the work day in and day out. By setting realistic goals and focusing on steady progress, we can achieve remarkable things and overcome even the most challenging obstacles. Whether we are building complex software systems or pursuing personal growth and development, the key is to stay committed to our vision and maintain a sense of purpose and direction.

In my own life, I have applied these principles to achieve a high level of success in my career and personal pursuits. I have also found that the insights and skills I have gained through my work in Physiology/Physical Therapy have been invaluable in helping me understand the human side of technology and create products that truly make a difference in people's lives.

Overall, I believe that a contemplative approach to software engineering can yield powerful results, and I am excited to continue exploring the ways in which technology can help us achieve our full potential.
